Low clouds have increased over the main Hawaiian islands over the last six hours. Fewer clouds are noted immediately upstream of the islands, and low cloud movement is from the southeast around 20 mph.

Clouds cover the eastern two thirds of Kauai at 2 pm. On Oahu, clouds remain over the Koolau range, and the adjacent coastal areas. Additional clouds have formed over the Waianae range, with both areas of clouds spilling over into the central portion of the island. Clouds remain over the Halawa Valley in eastern Molokai, and an additional area of clouds extends from Molokai airport to the western shores. Clouds cover much of Lanai, and just a few clouds are found over Kahoolawe. On Maui, clouds cover most of the west Maui mountains. Additional clouds are found over the eastern facing slopes of Haleakala from nahiku to Hana to kaupo. Clouds have formed over the northwest and west facing slopes over the last six hours.

On the Big Island, clouds remain over the east facing slopes of the Kohala mountains. Meanwhile clouds decreased over the south Hilo and Puna districts, with scattered clouds found overhead at 2 pm. In Kau, clouds increased over the southeast facing slopes from wood valley to Hawaiian ocean view estates. Clouds increased over the western side of the Big Island, with clouds covering most of the south Kona, north Kona, south Kohala and north Kohala districts.

The leading edge of a cloud band associated with a cold front is about 830 miles northwest of Kauai at 2 pm.
