Breezy and gusty trade winds will persist into the holiday weekend, with passing low clouds and showers affecting mainly the windward areas. A slight increase in trade showers is possible Wednesday night and Thursday as a low aloft moves over the islands. Strong winds over the summits and upper elevations of Maui and the Big Island will diminish by the weekend.
