SYNOPSIS FOR HAWAIIAN COASTAL WATERS:
A surface ridge about 250 nm north of Kauai will shift east today as a front approaches the islands from the northwest. The front will transition to a shear line by Monday as a strong high builds northwest of the area. The new high will produce near-gale force trade winds from Monday through Tuesday while also pushing the shear line southward over the islands. A large WNW swell will build today and peak tonight.
