...HAZARDOUS SEAS CREATED BY A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE
TO DECLINE...
...INCREASING TRADE WINDS ON TUESDAY...

.A declining northwest swell will continue to produce hazardous
seas of 10 ft or more over exposed waters through much of the
night. As the swell drops further on Tuesday, trade winds will
be steadily increasing. Advisory level winds will be initially
confined to the typically windy waters around the Big Island and
Maui. As winds increase further on Wednesday, the advisory will
likely need to be expanded to additonal waters.

A surface ridge northeast of the area will build gradually through Tuesday. A strong new high will move east to a position north of the islands Wednesday night. The high will move away to the northeast during the second half of the week.
