At 500 pm HST, 0300 UTC, the center of hurricane Ana was located near latitude 31.0 north, longitude 167.8 west. Ana is moving toward the northeast near 23 mph, 37 km/h and will continue to accelerate in this general direction over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 75 mph, 120 km/h, with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 25 miles, 35 km, from the center, and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles, 165 km.
