DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 pm HST, 0900 UTC, the center of tropical storm Ana was located near latitude 13.2 north, longitude 142.9 west. Ana is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph, 11 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue through Wednesday evening.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph, 75 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast through Wednesday evening.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 25 miles, 35 km from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb, 29.62 inches.
