At 1100 pm HST, 0900 UTC, the center of tropical storm Julio was located near latitude 31.0 north, longitude 159.0 west. Julio is moving toward the northeast near 3 mph, 6 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue through Thursday. Julio will then begin to move slowly north late Thursday night through Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph, 110 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast through Friday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 125 miles, 205 km from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 986 mb, 29.12 inches. |
