At 500 pm HST, 0300 UTC, the center of tropical depression Genevieve was located near latitude 12.9 north, longitude 148.5 west. The depression is moving toward the west near 5 mph, 7 km/h , and this motion is expected to to continue for the next 24 hours , with a slight increase in forward speed beyond that time.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Some slow strengthening is forecast during the next 24 to 48 hours.
