DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 pm HST, 0300 UTC, the center of post-tropical cyclone Genevieve was located near latitude 12.7 north, longitude 144.0 west. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the west near 15 mph, 24 km/h, and this general motion is expected to continue through Tuesday, with a slowing in the forward speed expected.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb, 29.74 inches.
