DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 am HST, 2100 UTC, the center of tropical storm Henriette was located near latitude 13.8 north, longitude 150.2 west. Henriette is moving toward the west-southwest near 21 mph, 34 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue over the next couple of days. On this track, Henriette will pass several hundred miles south of the main Hawaiian islands on Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph, 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Continued slow weakening is forecast over the next 48 hours, with Henriette expected to become a tropical depression late Sunday or early Monday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles, 95 km from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb, 29.59 inches.
