DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 1100 am HST, 2100 UTC, the center of tropical depression Three-C was located near latitude 18.3 north, longitude 175.5 west. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph, 26 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue until the system dissipates in 36 to 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 24 hours, with the system expected to weaken and dissipate in 36 to 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb, 29.77 inches.
