At 500 am HST, 1500 UTC, the center of tropical storm Daniel was located near latitude 15.4 north, longitude 141.2 west. Daniel is moving toward the west near 16 mph, and this motion is expected to continue during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph, with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Daniel is expected to become a post-tropical remnant low by Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb, 29.71 inches. |
