At 500 am HST, 1500 UTC, the center of tropical storm Fernanda was located near latitude 13.7 north, longitude 141.0 west. Fernanda is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph. Forward speed is not expected to change but direction of movement will become more westerly over the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph with higher gusts. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible during the next 12 hours or so, followed by a gradual weakening through 48 hours. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 80 miles from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 994 mb, 29.35 inches. |
