ABOUT 1115 MI W OF LIHUE HAWAII
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS: 50 MPH: 85 KM/HR
PRESENT MOVEMENT: NE OR 40 DEGREES AT 17 MPH
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE: 997 MB or 29.44 INCHES

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 am HST, 1500 UTC, the center of tropical storm omeka was located near latitude 21.6 north, longitude 176.8 west. Omeka is moving toward the northeast near 17 mph and is expected to turn to the north-northeast during the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 50 miles, 85 km from the center.

Estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb, 29.44 inches.
