For the central North Pacific, between 140W AND 180:

Two tropical cyclones occurred in the central North Pacific
in August.

The two cyclones that occurred in the central North Pacific 
basin in August moved into the area from the eastern North Pacific. 
Tropical Depression Ivette lasted only one day before weakening
to a remnant low. On the other hand, Hurricane Madeline rapidly
intensified to a category four hurricane shortly after entering the
central Pacific.
