FOR THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC...BETWEEN 140W AND 180

THERE WAS ONE TROPICAL CYCLONE IN THE CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE 
CENTER /CPHC/ AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 
2014.

HURRICANE ANA BEGAN AS TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO-C IN THE CENTRAL 
NORTH PACIFIC ON 13 OCTOBER. ANA REMAINED IN THE CENTRAL NORTH 
PACIFIC BASIN UNTIL IT BECAME AN EXTRA-TROPICAL LOW ON 26 OCTOBER. 
AT 13 DAYS...ANA IS THE LONGEST-LIVED TROPICAL CYCLONE TO 
DEVELOP...AND REMAIN ENTIRELY WITHIN THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC BASIN 
DURING THE SATELLITE ERA. ALSO...ANA SPENT MORE TIME IN THE BASIN 
THAN ANY TROPICAL CYCLONE ON RECORD.
