TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER HONOLULU HI
104 PM HST THU AUG 4 2016

For the central North Pacific...between 140W and 180:

1. Thunderstorms are periodically flaring near an area of low
pressure marking the post-tropical low of former tropical cyclone
Howard. The low is centered about 900 miles east of Hilo, Hawaii
and is moving westward around 15 mph. Cool sea surface
temperatures and hostile upper level winds are expected to
inhibit redevelopment.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent

2. The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida is issuing
advisories on Tropical Storm Ivette, located about 1900 miles
east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, under AWIPS header TCPEP5 and WMO
header WTPZ35 KNHC. Ivette is expected to cross 140W into the
Central Pacific Hurricane Center area of responsibility late
Sunday or Monday.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Saturday
afternoon.
