TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Shower and thunderstorm activity has become better organized in association with a low pressure area located about 1650 miles east-southeast of the Hawaiian islands. Environmental conditions are conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is expected to form later today or tonight while the system moves west-northwestward at about 15 mph. Since the area of interest is east of 140°W, please refer to the tropical weather outlook issued by the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, under AWIPS header MIATWOEP and WMO header abpz20 KNHC, for additional details.

* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 90 percent elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Saturday night.
