TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER HONOLULU HI

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with an area of disturbed weather located about 1760 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii continues to show signs of organization. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for further development, and a tropical depression is likely to form by this weekend while the system moves west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph. Since the area of interest is east of 140°W, please refer to the tropical weather outlook issued by the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, under AWIPS header MIATWOEP and WMO header abpz20 KNHC, for additional details.

* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 70 percent elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Saturday evening.
