TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER HONOLULU HI
800 PM HST THU JUL 9 2015

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Tropical depression Ela is located about 500 miles east-northeast of Hilo, Hawaii. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center in Honolulu is issuing advisories on this system.

2. Showers and thunderstorms located about 620 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii are associated with a persistent area of low pressure. Signs of low-level organization have been observed and environmental conditions are becoming more favorable for development into tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours.

* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 70 percent.

3. Showers and thunderstorms located about 1050 miles southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii or about 390 miles south of Johnston island are associated with a persistent area of low pressure. The system continues to become organized and environmental conditions are becoming more favorable for development into tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours.

* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 90 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Saturday evening.
