TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER HONOLULU HI
215 AM HST SAT AUG 2 2014

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Thunderstorms associated with former tropical depression Genevieve have become better organized during the past 6 hours. The center of this system, which is moving westward at about 10 mph, is located about 515 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii. Latest satellite data indicate that Genevieve is redeveloping into a tropical depression, and advisories will be reinitiated for this system at 5 am HST this morning.

* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 100 percent.

2. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure are located about 1050 miles east southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Upper-level winds are not currently favorable for development of this system, and any development of this system should be slow to occur while it moves westward at around 10 mph this weekend.* Formation chance through 48 hours, low, 20 percent.

3. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure are located about 1000 miles west southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii. Conditions appear to be less conducive for development of this system as it continues to move slowly toward the west northwest this weekend.* Formation chance through 48 hours, low, 0 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Sunday night.
