1130 PM HST FRI AUG 1 2014

SPECIAL TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Thunderstorms associated with former tropical depression Genevieve have become better organized since midday Friday. The center of this system, which is moving westward at about 10 mph, is located about 525 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii. Atmospheric conditions are increasingly favorable for the redevelopment of Genevieve as a tropical depression, and advisories may be reinitiated for this system early Saturday morning.* Formation chance through 48 hours, high, 90 percent.

2. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure are located about 1125 miles east southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Upper-level winds are not currently favorable for development of this system, and any development of this system should be slow to occur while it moves westward at around 10 mph this weekend.* Formation chance through 48 hours, low, 20 percent.

3. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure located about 970 miles west southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii have decreased in coverage since midday Friday. Environmental conditions appear to be less conducive for development of this system as it continues moving slowly toward the west northwest this weekend.* Formation chance through 48 hours, low, 0 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Sunday evening.
