For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. An area of low pressure located about 1440 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, continued to organize. Recent microwave wind measurements by satellite showed an actual low center, and not just a trough. Further development of this system is possible over the next few days as it moves toward the west or west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph, reaching the central Pacific basin late on Wednesday. * formation chance through 48 hours, medium, 50 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Wednesday night.
