Tropical Weather Outlook RSS Feed

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. An area of disturbed weather has formed near the date line, about 1400 miles southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii. Showers and thunderstorms are associated with a surface trough that appears to be nearly stationary. Upper level, shearing, winds are likely to inhibit strong development of this feature. There is a low chance, near 10 percent, of the system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Saturday night.
