Tropical Weather Outlook RSS Feed

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. A surface trough embedded within the ITCZ about 650 miles south-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii has been producing persistent but poorly organized thunderstorms. Upper level winds are only marginally conducive for development, and this feature should remain within the ITCZ as it moves west around 10 mph over the next couple of days. There is a low chance, 10 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Wednesday afternoon.
