For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. A persistent area of showers and thunderstorms about 1000 miles south-southwest of Kauai is poorly organized, but is in an environment that is conducive for further development. Some slow development of this system is possible as it tracks westward at 10 to 15 mph. This system has a low chance, 10 percent, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

2. A small, poorly organized, area of low pressure about 625 miles south-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii is producing isolated showers and thunderstorms, while drifting toward the northwest. This system lacks significant organization, and has a low chance, near 0 percent, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Sunday morning.
