For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. A weak low pressure circulation, the remnant of Emilia, was centered about 350 miles south southeast of Hilo and was moving west at near 20 mph. Isolated thunderstorms continue to flare up northeast of the low due to instability beneath an upper level trough. However, strong wind shear and cold sea surface temperatures in the vicinity of the low do not support re-development. There is a low chance, near 0 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Thursday afternoon.
