For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Showers and thunderstorms along an east to west oriented surface trough located about 900 miles south southwest of Lihue have increased in coverage and intensity during the past several hours. However, there are currently no signs of increased organization along this trough. Atmospheric conditions do not appear to be favorable for significant development in this area during the next couple of days as it moves slowly westward. There is a low chance, 10 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Tuesday night.
