For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a weak surface low are located about 800 miles south southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. Thunderstorms continue to pulse, strengthening and weakening. Environmental conditions appear to be unfavorable for significant development of this system as it moves westward at about 11 mph. There is a low chance, near 0 percent, of this system developing into a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Friday afternoon.
