For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. An area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located near 11°N 144°W, or about 900 miles southeast of Hilo, is associated with a surface trough and an earlier scatterometer pass shows weak low-level circulation within the storm cells. There is a low chance, near 10 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves west at 20 mph.

Otherwise, no tropical cyclones are expected through early Thursday morning.
