For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. The area of showers and thunderstorms centered about 410 miles south of Hilo, Hawaii, has changed little in organization early this morning. The coverage and intensity of the thunderstorms within this area have also been fluctuating during the past 12 hours. Development of this feature is possible as it continues moving slowly toward the west northwest at about 10 mph during the next couple of days. There is a medium chance, 50 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Friday morning.
