Tropical Weather Outlook RSS Feed

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. The area of showers and thunderstorms centered about 440 miles south southeast of Hilo, Hawaii has changed little in organization early this morning. The coverage and intensity of the thunderstorms within this area have also been fluctuating during the past 18 hours. Continued gradual development of this feature is possible as it continues moving slowly toward the west northwest at about 10 mph during the next couple of days. There is a high chance, 60 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Thursday night.
