Issued: Sep 17, 2010 20:00 pm HST

For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Thunderstorms have been sporadically developing in association with a weak low about 950 miles southeast of Hilo Hawaii. The low lacks significant organization, and conditions do not appear to be conducive for further development over the next couple of days as it drifts slowly west. There is a low chance, near 10 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Otherwise, no tropical cyclones are expected through Sunday evening.
