For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. Convection has been pulsing near 10°N 145°W, occasionally developing impressively before dissipating again. Scatterometer data shows a trough, with an elongated area of westerly winds. This system has a low chance, 10 percent, of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.

Otherwise, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Saturday night.
