For the central north Pacific, between 140°W and 180.

1. A weak surface trough located about 1090 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawaii is moving westward at almost 20 mph. Only a few disorganized thunderstorms are associated with this trough and strong upper level winds in the vicinity of the system are not conducive for any significant development. Therefore, there is a low chance, near 0 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through late Friday night.
